Modge Podge

I love it.  Honestly, whoever invented it, is my best friend for life.  I mean, this stuff is so cool!!! It gives the paper an amazing quality and texture.  It makes me happy :)

This post is all about art today, because art is life.  Any form of it.  Whether you express yourself through painting, sculpting, music, drawing, fashion, writing, photography, baking, sewing, knitting, film, poetry, etc. etc., it's art!  I think I was first really inspired to pursue art when I went to Michigan and visited my aunt Julia a few years ago.  I absolutely adore going to her house because she is so creative and there is always some neat art project going on. (yes, I said 'neat')  My fellow cousins also are rather creative, and they are also an inspiration.

I recently was offered an amazing opportunity by my art teacher to decorate this old bowling pin that will be displayed at a Bowling Congress Meeting thingy that is going to be hosted in Reno sometime soon.  The project was originally only meant for her honors students, but I guess she figured my friend and Brianna and I were 'artistic', and so even though we're not honors we get to do this great project!

I decided to make my pin's theme Reno Recycles.  That way it has something to do with Reno, but is also based on a topic I feel strongly about.  So far I've modge podged a whole bunch of random recycled bits of paper as a base, and right now I'm using my handy dandy hot glue gun to glue bits of recyclable material to it.  I'm really really excited, and promise I'll post a picture of the finished product later!

Bye!
