All This Stuff

Ok.  So.  Here's how it's gonna go.  I'm gonna say ONE sentence about tons of random stuff.  Because i literally started typing up a post, it failed, I started another one, and that one failed too.  So now I'm up to this.

- I haven't blogged in what seems like foreverrrrrrr!
- I've been procrastinating on my writer's journal for English too...
- Twiggy is now my favorite model!
- Camping this weekend is going to be very fun. :)
- How I Met Your Mother is so funny!
- Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) is amazing.
- I like wearing my light blue headband around my head hippy-style!
- It's terribly annoying when you're trying to find someone on Facebook but don't know their last name...
- I am now on disc 17 of my 32 discs to download onto my computer and am feeling rather successful about it.
- Hairspray is a very fun musical!
- I still have a weird short tan that's annoying me..
- Great news- my little sister just announced that if a certain guy friend of mine ever tried to hit on me, he would be going D-O-W-N!
- Rebecca Black officially inspires me now, on the fact that she totally is taking a long look at all of the haters and STARING RIGHT BACK!  (oh yes, I said it.)
- It's really fun to run around and pet people's hair and then say SOFT!!
- It's also really fun to pretend you have a secret tail.

Ok.  I'm done.  Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blogging

Happy Julie????  Haha ok, so yeah, my last post was four days ago.  So I'm gonna blog, since I leaving for Tahoe this afternoon, and won't be back until the third.

First of all:  I am so excited to go to Tahoe!  It's gonna be a lot of fun!  I'm going to get better at wake boarding and beat my 30 second best, I'm gonna go tubing (so fun) and I'm gonna go paddle boarding!  It will be LEGENDARY.

Secondly, I'm going to be using the adjective LEGENDARY a lot more frequently now.  Why, Sierra, why???  Well, duh, it's because my new favorite sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, is amazing, and I quote it now.

Thirdly, I ordered my vinyl copy of Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall by Coldplay and I am so excited!!  Also, I've come to realize how much I love Coldplay.  But I also love the Killers, Panic! At the Disco, My Chemical Romance, and tons of other artists!  If you know me, you know that one of my well-known catchphrases is "I love this song!!!!" which I say all the time.  Whenever a song comes on that I like.  Wich is... pretty much all the time.

The last Harry Potter movie!!!!!!  It was good.  Yes.  Not as good as the book of course, but still, I'm gonna miss Harry :'(  Also, if you like Daniel Radcliffe and supporting awesome causes, check out The Trevor Project!  It's an amazing effort to prevent suicides among gay, lesbian, or transgender teens, and it's all about promoting peace and acceptance!  Finally!

Highschool!  Is starting in one month to the day!  Gosh!  I'm excited, for sure.  The only thing that is going to be difficult is deciding what to wear!  It sounds shallow, but it's true.  Last year I got too used to wearing polos and khakis, and spending 30 seconds finding clothes in the morning.  Now, as a result, I haven't seriously been shopping in about a year, and all of my clothes are too small or not my style.  It's weird to think about, but you don't really notice how much you change in only 365 days.  I'm a different person than I was in eighth grade.  The other problem, is I have no cash!  Well, I do, but still :P

Speaking of cash....  Why is it that I wait around for one of my neighbors to need a babysitter, and then when they finaaaaaally need one, I'm either out of town or have already made plans I can't cancel?????  Ugh!  It's so frustrating!!  I want a job.

I'm excited for high school.  Again, haha.  Well, it's because of new people, new classes (yikes!) and something to make me busy!  Summer is bad for me when it involves Facebook.  Very bad.  So when school starts I'm gonna waaaay narrow down my time, and I'm excited about that.

Computer Literacy.  Two words that make me feel like grabbing a computer and hurling it at the ground.  Well, at least the online version does.  It's Evil.  No joke.  It's not horrible, or annoying, ok, well, it is, but above all of that, it's Evil.  Evil.  Like Hate, Anger, Violence and Ignorance, Computer Literacy is Evil.

I'm up to four days of music on my computer!!!!!!!!  YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I get a job, I'll have money for clothes, awesome books (Cobain Unseen is on my book list..), music!!!, going to fun things with my friends, and movies!   Haha yay.

Anyways, what's up with you guys?  How have you been?  Comment with comment questions or criticisms, and yeah.. :)  Later!

How To Become A Vampire- In Just 25 Easy Steps!

Ever wanted to go Twilight style?  Well now you can!

1.  Try to avoid the sun as much as you can for about... well, all of your life.  No tans allowed!
2.  Find some sort of file so that you can shave your canines down to little sharp points.
3.  Buy red contacts.
4.  You need to grow your fingernails out a bit, and once they're long, those too can be shaved to points.
5.  Get used to eating your meat extremely rare.  Unless you become a veggie vampire!
6.  This isn't really necessary, but if you can, dye your hair black.
7.  Become immortal
8.  Avoid garlic
9.  Also, avoid wooden stakes
10.  Don't let people tear your head off!
11.  If you fall into a fire pit... you most likely die.. so don't do that.
12.  Hmmm.... while I'm on the topic of avoiding death, watch out for Vampire Disease.
13.  Silver is bad for you.
14.  Wear dark clothing.  It looks spookier!
15.  This, by far, is the MOST IMPORTANT step.  You need to go to a drug store, and buy Olay      Quench Body Lotion.  This stuff makes you sparkle in the sun!!!
16.  Now I'm on a Twilight theme, so... Avoid people like Bella!  You know the type, insecure, bad    actors, emotionless demons, etc.  They just seem to screw up everyone's vampire plans!  Plus then you'll have all these people wanting to drink her blood, and that will bring on all sorts of other problems.  So no human boyfriend/girlfriends!
17.  If the rare situation does come along, then just go ahead and make your girlfriend a vampire already!  It'll save you tons of trouble, trust me.
18.  Werewolves... they're so frickin hott!  I'm sorry vampires, but you just can't hold a candle to them.  No way.  But in the meantime, just play nice with them, okay?  I don't want to hear about any fighting!
20.  You need to develop some sixth sense skills.. Because that makes you a cool vampire.  Figure out how to see the future, or read people's mind's or something.  You might want to start by realizing that I skipped number 19... ;)
21.  Load up on as many vampire movies as possible.  If you wanna play the part, ya gotta figure out what that part is first.
22.  Cardio!  You have got to become extra fast now.  It's what vampires do, deal with it.
23.  Also, try to become really good at climbing trees.
24.  Becoming really strong wouldn't hurt either.....
25.  It is really important not to let humans find out that you are a vampire!  So, for this reason, I must force you to become a loner.  It's better for you, trust me.
26.  Lastly, enjoy your vampire skills in utter solitary confinement!  Have a good time! :)

If you're like me and really aren't a major Twilight teen girl fanatic, that's alright too!  I just thought this would be entertaining :)

Truths, Tips, Facts and Stuff About Camping!

If you are ever trying to start a fire (in a protected, fire safe environment of course!) but are lacking newspaper, find a LOT of pine needles!  They work very well!

Try not to use aerosols (spray can) sunscreen or bug spray.  You probably shouldn't use them at home either, because they're bad for the environment, but at the very least, don't use it out in the middle of no where.  That is the equivalent of marching up to Mother Earth, pulling out a can of bug spray, and spraying it into her eyes! It's a bad thing.

When faced with bug bites that feel like they are burning your foot off, do NOT pour rubbing alcohol on them to soothe them!  It's not going to work!!  Rubbing alcohol burns!!  If you want something soothing, maybe aloe would be better??

Remember:  even if that log looks like it will support your weight and not flip, the chances are, it's gonna flip anyways.  Therefore, you will end up with a shoe full of water.

Don't burn your marshmallow stick before you're done eating marshmallows.  If ya do, your marshmallows of the future will have a lot of soot in the center!

Burnt marshmallows are delicious.

Marshmallow is a really weird word!!  Wouldn't you think to spell it marshmellow?  I guess not.

If you are camping in bear territory, it's a good thing to have watch dogs around in your campsite!  That way, when they bear comes, the barking dogs and clanking of the doggie cage will scare them away!

Try not to worry about how you look when you go camping.  Of course your hair is greasy and gross, and you probably have dirt almost everywhere.  So what?  It's camping!  Just remember to avoid places where cute boys/boys you know may be lurking, and jump in the shower when you get home!

Lastly, don't bring technology with you camping.  When you go camping, it is a time to enjoy and appreciate nature, and it's time to take a break from modern connections.  If you are zoned into your phone the entire time of camping experience, you might miss some really neat things!  So get out there and explore them darn ya!

Maybe you aren't the camping type, but even if you're not, just go out there and try it, just this once.  You might have a great time!  And if you are a camper extraordinaire, then enjoy your time, follow my, err, tips, and comment with some of your own!!   :)  Sierra

Raise the Flag

I was listening to the radio two songs ago when one of the most amazing, completely inspiring songs came up, drilled a hole into my soul and stuck itself there.  It's a song called Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, and it's by the one and only Coldplay.  There's a part in the song where it says "so you can hurt, hurt me bad, but I'll still raise the flag" that really comes through to me.  To me, it means that no matter how many times you get knocked down, if you believe in yourself you will be able to pick yourself up.  It's entirely possible that I have interpreted this song completely differently than it's supposed to be interpreted, but that's the beauty of art- you can take it any way you want, and it means something different and unique to everyone.

There are a lot of people in the world who have difficulties with themselves, and can only express themselves in a negative way.  Sometimes those people can't find any other option than to take the suffering of their conflicted souls out on innocent people.  If you are ever confronted with someone who is mean, or vicious, even though it seems impossible, try not to hate them.  They are struggling with themselves, and might even be jealous of your confidence and security.  Most bullies are really just lost souls who have difficulties dealing with their own problems in a positive way.  If you try lending them a shoulder to cry on, and you try to be a friend to them, that is the kindest thing you can do on your part.  If they still refuse to help themselves, and use or abuse your love, it's perfectly fine to not want to have anything to do with them.  Forgive and forget, and live on.  But that's just my perspective of life.  You can choose to think about it, or not, and you can choose to act on it, or not.  It's your choice, and your life.  I can't make you do anything, so I will simply state my opinion and let you do with it what you want.  The beauty of art, as well as philosophy, is that everyone can take it their own way, and live by it how they want.  Maybe I've interpreted this aspect of life completely differently than it's usually interpreted, but that's how life goes.  Take it or leave it.

In Love

with acting.  Anything about acting.  Theatre, movies, home plays done in you garage, you name it.  Acting is something that I love, and it is a major part of my life.

When you act, you have the chance to become someone else, no matter if it's for a few seconds, a few minutes, or a few hours.

I don't think I quite realized until the other day how totally and completely obsessed I am with acting.  For the past four or five years now, I've enjoyed putting on theatre productions with the group I'm part of, and having an amazing time.  But just the other day I realized that being an actress is sincerely a career I can see my self enjoying.  I wouldn't want to be an actress in an incredibly popular movie, co-starring with a well known actor or anything, (i.e. Tom Hanks, Natalie Portman) but I would love love love LOVE to be in maybe a low budget, or independent film.  Something quirky and fun, maybe a little scary, with a little bit of romance in it.  Preferably with a cute co-star.. ;)

I only realized my total love of acting after watching the movie Dance of the Dead.  Heard of it?  Probably not.  As of now, it is my favorite zombie movie, and home of my favorite actor of the moment, Jared Kusnitz.  (he is so cute in that movie!)  It's a kinda scary, kinda funny, kinda quirky and kinda romantic movie all in one.  It's awesome.  Plus the actors in the movie don't get too much publicity, which is amazing.  The number one thing I dislike about fame is all of the hatred that comes with it.  Sure, you wind up with lots of adoring fans, but then there are some horrible, mean, hating people who are just trying to bring you down.  For me, being famous isn't worth it.  But having a fun time, scoring an amazing experience, meeting new people, being able to be in  a movie and yet stay out of the limelight?  Perfection.  Absolute bliss.

So who knows?  Maybe someday I'll be able to see my face on DVD.  Otherwise, I'll be happy with my theatre productions, be they at the Nugget, in the school auditorium, or in my garage.

The End.

Another Year Older

Yesterday was my birthday, and I am now fourteen years old.  It's interesting to think about the dynamic of birthday celebrations, and to in your own way observe the shifts in the norm.  When I was two, I doubt I realised it was my birthday, but was probably too happy to care, with the gifts and ice cream given to me.  When I was five, I would look forward to my birthday, and be unable to sleep at all the night before.  I would spend all night tossing and turning, thinking about the surprises of the next day.  That trend continued until I reached middle school.  Then I was too tired to not sleep, and didn't get quite as excited as the six year old me.  This year, I was surprised when people were announcing the fact that my birthday was next week, and I had absolutely nothing planned.  No birthday wish list, no party plans, no menu, no anything.  In fact, I didn't even decided officially what do do until the night before my birthday.  I went to bed late that night, and the next day, on my birthday, I woke up at 7:18.  For as long as I've had the choice, I've woken up at 6:22 every morning of my birthday, because that's what time I was born.  It's been tradition.  This year, I was waaaaay too tired to want to get up before 7:00.  There was no way I could wake up that early.  So instead, I woke up at 7:18, took a shower, and went to sit down to eat my delicious banana pancakes with whipped cream.  Just as I had gotten out of the shower, the phone rang.  It was my neighbor, who needed emergency babysitting and could I please help?  I volunteered to help out, because I didn't want to make life hard for the mom.  So I at my pancakes, brushed my wet hair, and walked down the street to their house.  Then I babysat a five year old and 8 year old boy for the next three hours.  It was pretty exhausting, but not too bad I guess.  Then I came back home, and my mother and I made delicious turkey-apple-chipolte-cheese-spinach-rye paninis.  After lunch, my mom and sister took my dog to the vet.  I didn't want to go to the vet on my birthday (they smell sad) so I stayed home.  My mom and sister came back after about 45 minutes, and then we had about two hours of lazy, do-nothing time.  My mom and I looked through some baby pictures of me, and then she took my sister to her yoga class.  This was about 4:30, and I was waiting for my dad to get home.  He thought he was going to be home at about four o'clock, but it seemed he was running late.  He ended up getting home at about 5:15.  Once my family had returned to me, we got dinner going, a couple of people came over, and my day sped up a bit.  Yummiful pita bread pizzas were followed by cheesecake, and luckily for us we only had one major drink spillage accident! (courtesy of me, whoops..)  We were going to go to an Aces game at seven, but abandoned that plan when it was 6:45 and we hadn't had dinner yet.  Later I got a capo for my guitar (!) a metronome for my piano, and lots of other fun stuff.  Then we watched My Girlfriend's Boyfriend (it was okaay), made popcorn, and went to bed.  And that basically concludes my day.

Overall, it wasn't too bad of a birthday.  Nothing too interesting or exciting, but who says you can only do amazing things on the day you were born??  I plan to do TONS of killer-exciting things this summer, and you just watch me ;)

Luv ya!
