Thoughts!

Ok, so this is a semi-serious post, hopefully infused with some comedy, although I certainly do not want to sound morbid and depressing or anything, and I certainly do not mean it in a way that will make you depressed.  The point of these next following words are to perhaps open your mind's eye for a moment, and shed some light on things that we as people often take for granted.

My story begins with something that happened to me about a week ago, as I was walking into my bedroom.  It was about 10:30 at night, and, as I do not like to turn on lights and disturb other members of the Jickling household, (i.e. my bloodthirsty sister) it was rather dark in the hallway.  As I turned the corner to step into my room and flick on the light switch, I stumbled over some shoes in my doorway (left there by an incredibly disorganized someone.. but definitely not me... pshhhhh) and nearly fell to my death.  Okay, yes, this is an exaggeration.  However, as I tripped and fell in an extraordinarily ungraceful manner, then caught myself and stood up, I began to think of the consequences of tripping and inflicting bodily harm upon oneself late at night.  I thought of how my sharp, wooden bed corner was waiting for an innocent young head to come crashing down upon it.  I thought of tears and blood, and parents worrying over stitches.  I thought of little sisters being worried.  Most of all, I realized that humans are in fact, very vulnerable.  We are a very fragile part of life, and often times I don't think that that is apparent until life is ripped away from us.  So treasure what you have, and try not to trip!

Love ya all!
